New Releases: June 2

Not wanting to shun the old formula, Dave and I will be live blogging from our mothers’ respective basements for the next week or so. If the posting suddenly gets better, we’ll know that’s why. Sadly, there is no new Wavves album this week, so we can’t increase our traffic further by trashing it.

What is being released, however, is fairly light. The Jeff Buckley release looks interesting, and the Dave Matthews is obviously the main draw. Beyond that, it’s all about preference. Go for the classic punk of Rancid, the Scottish pop of Paolo Nutini or the screamo of Taking Back Sunday – whatever your pick, I hope you find something to enjoy this week.

A couple tracks are after the list, and if you were looking for something else, you can check Amazon.

Jeff Buckley – Grace (Around the World Edition)
Dave Matthews Band – Big Whiskey and the GrooGrux King (Also available in SuperDeluxe Edition!)
Rancid – Let the Dominoes Fall
Elvis Costello – Secret, Profane and Sugarcane
311 – Uplifter
Paolo Nutini – Sunny Side Up
Eels – Hombre Lobo: 12 Songs of Desire
Taking Back Sunday – New Again
Iggy Pop – Preliminaires
Frank Sinatra – Classic Sinatra, Vol. 2

311 – Amber (mp3) from From Chaos

Paolo Nutini – Jenny Don’t Be Hasty (mp3) from These Streets

And one note: if you were wondering, we’re going to leave the Static Jacks EP giveaway open until this coming Thursday when we’ll put up a new one.  So far there’s only one entrant, so there’s a clear-cut favorite, but you can still go back and enter to get some free music.  Don’t act like you’re too good for it.  Have an excellent week everyone.
