I don’t think I’ve ever really been into Interpol. Turn on the Bright Lights was excellent in 2002, when the post-punk revival was in full swing – but the band hasn’t ever seemed to move past that sound. Each subsequent album has been less and less exciting.
Paul Banks, the now mustachioed lead singer of Interpol, however, is combating that by going out on his own. Under the stage name of Julian Plenti, Banks is releasing Skyscraper via Matador Records on August 4th.
